Programs

Do you think the Kilkenny Community League needs a new program? Maybe a dance or yoga class? Interested in starting a Book Club? Maybe an after school program? Maybe an art or cooking class? If you’d like to run one of these programs; drop us a line. These programs require volunteers to coordinate – and we think you, our fantastic community members – are up for the challenge. Calling All Crafters  “CREATE AND CONNECT”

Do you enjoy doing crafts? Are you interested in learning about other crafts?  Kilkenny Community League hosts a Crafters Night the second Friday of each month where you can bring a craft you enjoy doing while socializing with other crafters.  It is free, all you have to do is bring something your are interested in working on yourself and have an opportunity to visit with others.  Coffee and tea will be provided, just drop in between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., it is open to anyone over the age of 16, there is no selling of items, just enjoying the company of others.

We hope that you can join with us.  We look forward to seeing you soon.

Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch (ENW)

The Edmonton Police Service (EPS) posts an interactive MAP for all to follow crime in their neighbourhoods.

Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch (ENW) is a volunteer-based program.  We are fortunate enough to have a local representative. If you have concerns about what is happening in your neighbourhood, please email our local representative at: kilkenny.enw.representative@gmail.com or call the Edmonton Police Service on their non-emergency line at 780-423-4567 or #377 from your cell phone.  Only call 911 if it is an emergency.

Cost

    • Community League members: FREE (please ensure you have current skate tags)
    • Non-Community League members
    • Skating: Adult $2, Child (12 & under) $1
    • Shinny: Adult $3, Child (12 & under) $2
    • CASH ONLY
    • Ice rink rental: $75/hour Please contact the rink during operating hours or email vicepresident@kilkenny.ab.ca to book your ice time.

Rules

    • Children 12 and under MUST be supervised by a caregiver over the age of 12 years.
    • No inappropriate behaviour or language is permitted.
    • No smoking, alcohol, or drugs permitted.
    • Clean up any mess you make, use the garbage cans, put empty beverage containers into the recycling bins.
    • No playing tag or British Bulldog on rinks.
    • No playing on the snow piles or ice surfaces between building and rinks, this facility is for skating only.
    • Those playing Shinny may be asked to scrape the ice surfaces.
    • Report any problems to the rink attendant.
    • Helmets are mandatory for anyone under the age of 18, and are highly recommended for everyone else.
    • Skate at your own risk.
    • Failure to follow the rules will result in skaters being asked to leave the rink. Continued disregard will result in a complete ban. If you appear intoxicated, you will be asked to leave.
